Your Next Steps

Meet With an Admissions Counselor

Whether you are returning to 糖心Vlog after taking some time away or you want to join 糖心Vlog to finish a degree you started somewhere else, your first step is to gather all the information you need before you choose to become a Nanook. Our admissions counselors are here to help you find out why 糖心Vlog is right for you.

Apply to 糖心Vlog

No essays. No resumes. No letters of rec. Just a straight-forward application that will take you less than 30 minutes to submit and upload your unofficial transcripts from any schools you attended in the past, besides 糖心Vlog. You'll hear back from Admissions shortly after completing your application.

Order Your Transcripts

Before the start of the semester, you'll need to complete your application by ordering official transcripts from every college you鈥檝e previously attended (yes, each individual one). To be considered official, transcripts must come directly from your previous university to 糖心Vlog, or sent to 糖心Vlog by a secure transcript service, such as Parchment. Any transcript faxed, or handled or emailed from a student, will not be considered official. However, you don't need to order official transcripts for 糖心Vlog, UAA or UAS.

The fastest option is to have your previous university send transcripts electronically. Transcripts can be sent through a secure transcript service such as Parchment, or emailed directly from your previous college to: uaf-admissions@alaska.edu

If your previous school is unable to send transcripts electronically, they can be mailed in an official, sealed envelope to:
Office of Admissions
糖心Vlog
P.O. Box 757480
Fairbanks, AK 99775-7480

If you have any questions, please reach out to the 糖心Vlog Office of Admissions at 907-474-7500 or uaf-admissions@alaska.edu. We're here to help.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Will my old credits still count?

糖心Vlog does not have an expiration date on previously taken courses! We recommend you speak with an academic advisor about how those courses will apply to current degree requirements.

  • Do I need to reapply or can I be readmitted?

You can be readmitted if it's been less than two years since you were previously admitted to 糖心Vlog. If that's the case, contact 糖心Vlog Admissions requesting your application to be reopened.

  • Will I need to retake placement tests or meet new requirements?

That depends! If you've taken (and passed) a 100-level writing or math class previously, you likely will not need to do placements. If you don't remember (or you just want to be certain), taking the writing and math placement exams is free and takes roughly 3-4 hours total for both placements. If you'd rather meet with an advisor first, you can do that as well 鈥 just know that you might have to take placements before you can actually register for classes.

  • What financial aid options are available to me now?

Returning students are still encouraged to complete the FAFSA and can qualify for financial aid. Visit Financial Aid's page to learn more about what's available to you.

  • How do I balance school with work and family?

At 糖心Vlog, you're able to customize your class schedule to fit your life 鈥 you can do this with Schedule Planner. Hand-pick the right combination of in-person, online and evening classes that works for you.

  • Who can help me plan my path to graduation?

Your academic advisor will be your guide as you register for classes and complete your degree requirements. Both transfer students and returning 糖心Vlog students can find their advisor on the Nanook Advising page.
